The Hope & Favor Transformation House is a residential facility that operates with the purpose of assisting men who are recovering from any type of substance abuse. Our goal is to get these men off the street and to offer them residence in a safe, structured, and supportive environment allowing them the opportunity to rebuild the life skills necessary to live an independent, substance-free life. Such changes will be beneficial to them, their families, and their communities.
A MESSAGE FROM A CO-FOUNDER
It has been a longtime dream of mine to be able to assist people struggling with alcohol and drug addiction. These are not bad people. They were once hard working and respected members of their communities; however, their live unfortunately took a detour and they now need help in getting back on the right path.
As a recovering alcoholic with 22 years of sobriety, I take this struggle very personally. Many years ago, I walked the streets of Louisville, Kentucky a hopeless drunk. Not living; only existing. I believed the future didn’t hold much for me and that life had passed me by. However, God sent someone to show me the way and now it’s my turn to shine the light on others who are waiting to be shown. Because like it or not, they are a part of us, and it takes all of us to continue to give, to contribute to love one another, and to bring this nation back to what it once was.
I’ve been a minister for sixteen years, and I have enjoyed my time in the pulpit, but the time has come for me to give to others, what God has given me--my life back! Addiction attacks every area of one’s being--mentally, physically and spiritually. This facility seeks to bring healing to all these areas by providing housing, food, clothing, and spiritual counseling. As a minister, I have witnessed the broken hearts, the distraught families, and the destroyed relationships that addiction causes and with your help we can make a difference. I know it won’t be easy, but with God “ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE!”
